The Sue Shaffer Learning Commons & Library is open to the public and offers comfortable seating, access to the library computer lab, WiFi, and access the physical and digital collections while in the library.
All UCC students enrolled in for-credit classes have a library account created for them upon registering for classes. Their library card number is their 800#, and the barcode on their student ID card serves as their library card. This library card grants them access to physical & digital library materials both on and off campus. They are also eligible to access course reserve items (i.e. textbooks), library reserve items (i.e. laptops & calculators), the library computer lab, and free black & white printing (in the library computer lab).

The UCC Library's computer lab provides access to computers, printers, scanners, wifi, software required for most academics at the college, including engineering software. While you're here we can help with questions about technology, elearning, research for your classes, citations, how to use the library, and more. We also provide laptops to borrow for the entire term.
Visit the library's front desk to borrow textbooks on reserve (in-house for 2-3 hours), Early Child Education (ECE) textbooks for the whole term, graphing & scientific calculators, laptops, headphones, and more.
Interlibrary loan is available for digital and physical materials. Unfortunately, due to publishing restrictions we are unable to ILL most eBooks.
Materials can be returned to the library's front desk during open hours or via the book drop located in the parking lot behind the library building. Laptops & calculators must be returned to the library front desk -- they cannot be returned via the book drop.

Residents of the UCC Service District are welcome to apply for a UCC Library card which allows you to borrow from our physical collection of print books, and to access our online resources (including ebooks, articles, and streaming video from our online collections) while physically in the library.
In order to get a library card, community users must bring a current photo ID and a piece of mail with their current address to the library circulation desk during our regular business hours. A short form will need to be filled out, and then a library card may be issued.
Find ebooks, academic articles, news, magazines, encyclopedias, and streaming video on the Library website. Due to vendor contracts these are only available to community users while physically in the library.
You can check out print books from the library. Browse the shelves or search for print books using the UCC Library Discovery Service.
The UCC Library's computer lab provides access to computers, printers, scanners, & wifi. Community users are welcome to use the Computer Lab up to one hour per day at designated workstations only. Printing is $.05 per page (black & white only), and can be paid for at the Circulation Desk.
Course Reserves are not available for use by community users at this time.
Interlibrary loan services are not available for community users at this time.

Oregon State University and University of Oregon offer free borrowing privileges to Oregon residents 16 years and older through their Oregon Card programs.
Portland State University offers free borrowing privileges to Oregon residents who show a public library card and photo ID to PSU Library Circulation Desk. Others may pay a $50 annual fee for borrowing privileges.
